Qualifications

  • Journeyman Card, Technical Certificate, or 5+ years of on-the-job training.
  • Shop environment readiness including noise, coolant, and temperature swings.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Read prints and use standard gaging equipment to verify parts.
  • Own your area and train machinists, manage backlog, and ensure quality.
  • Program parts from scratch using MasterCAM, GibbsCAM, or similar.
  • Machine product to spec and reject nonconforming parts.
  • Communicate WIP timing to engineering and related teams.
  • Monitor inventory levels and schedule manufacturing runs.
  • Store proven programs, tooling, fixtures, and tooling sheets.
  • Move between CNC Lathe, CNC Mill, Manual, and Tool Cell areas.
  • Collaborate with vendors to pursue continuous improvement.

Requirements
What You'll Do
  • Use standard gaging equipment and read prints like second nature
  • Own your assigned area, including training other machinists, quality, and managing your own work backlog
  • Program parts from scratch using MasterCAM, GibbsCAM, or similar, and machine our product complete
  • Drive quality control, adjust as needed to hit spec, and reject anything that doesn't make the cut
  • Give engineering, spares, or others a heads-up on WIP timing when they need it
  • Keep an eye on inventory levels and help area leaders schedule manufacturing runs
  • File and store your proven programs, special tooling, fixtures, and tooling sheets so the next job goes even smoother
  • Move between CNC Lathe, CNC Mill, Manual, and Tool Cell areas, versatility keeps things interesting
  • Partner with vendors to chase down continuous improvement, cut setup times, and speed up machining
What We're Looking For
  • Comfortable working independently, managing your own area, troubleshooting, and following Orbitform procedures
  • Journeyman Card, Technical Certificate, or 5+ years of on-the-job training
  • Ready for a hands-on shop environment with noise, coolant, and temperature swings, it comes with the territory
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs
Schedule

Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, 40 hours per week. Regular overtime and frequent weekend work. No overnight travel, some occasional local day travel may be necessary.
