Job summary

D.O.M. magazine is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Phoenix, AZ team on the 2nd shift (2 PM–10:30 PM).

You will observe, maintain, and repair mechanical devices, with emphasis on hydraulic systems and metalworking tools, to keep equipment running smoothly and safely. Responsibilities include troubleshooting PLCs and servo drives, reading electrical schematics, preventive maintenance, and assisting with dismantling/installation of equipment.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Proficiency in writing routine reports.
  • Ability to calculate figures such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Understanding of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to handle a variety of concrete variables.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Understand production machines driven by hydraulic pressure.
  • Set up and operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking tools to maintain and repair equipment.
  • Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts.
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Install special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Clean and lubricate parts.
  • Start devices to test their performance.
  • Assist with the dismantling and installation of equipment.
  • Advise on parts needing to be ordered.
  • Recommend components to be maintained in inventory to reduce downtime.
  • Evaluate PLCs, PCs, and servo drives using a multi-meter, identifying and repairing problems.
  • Understand electrical schematics.
  • Service and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical skills and maintenance technician experience.

Work Environment

This position is for the 2nd shift, running Monday through Friday from 2 PM to 10:30 PM. The work environment includes regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional exposure to high places, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate. Employees must frequently lift and/or move items and have the ability to drive and operate a forklift, scissor lift, or other job‑specific equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $83200.00/yr.
