Job summary

Astemo Ltd. is seeking a CNC Maintenance Specialist to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve CNC machining equipment within a high‑volume manufacturing environment.

You will support automated systems, resolve spindle and axis issues, and ensure equipment reliability to minimize downtime. The role requires hands‑on experience with CNC machinery, PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and CMMS documentation, plus strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Automation, CNC Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience troubleshooting CNC machining equipment.
• Experience measuring ball screw backlash and spindle runout.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and industrial control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, and automated production equipment.
• Troubleshoot spindle systems, servo drives, axis faults, tool changers, machine controls, and CNC‑related alarms.
• Measure and adjust ball screw backlash, spindle runout, and machine alignment to maintain process capability.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motors, sensors, robotics, and industrial control systems.
• Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, coolant, filtration, and fluid delivery systems.
• Troubleshoot automated loaders, gantries, conveyors, transfer systems, and robotic work cells.
• Maintain vision systems, barcode readers, sensors, and automated inspection equipment.
• Use CMMS software to document repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment history.
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow all safety requirements including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and machine guarding standards.

Position Description
