ASTEMO AMERICAS, INC. is seeking a CNC Maintenance Specialist to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve CNC machining equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

You will serve as a key technical resource, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting quality objectives. The role requires strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills, plus CMMS documentation and safety discipline.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Automation, CNC Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting CNC machining equipment.
  • Experience measuring ball screw backlash and spindle runout.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and industrial control systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Experience using precision measurement equipment and CMMS software.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, and automated production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot spindle systems, servo drives, axis faults, tool changers, machine controls, and CNC-related alarms.
  • Measure and adjust ball screw backlash, spindle runout, and machine alignment to maintain process capability.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motors, sensors, robotics, and industrial control systems.
  • Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, coolant, filtration, and fluid delivery systems.
  • Troubleshoot automated loaders, gantries, conveyors, transfer systems, and robotic work cells.
  • Maintain vision systems, barcode readers, sensors, and automated inspection equipment.
  • Use CMMS software to document repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment history.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all safety requirements including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and machine guarding standards.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The CNC Maintenance Specialist is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving CNC machining equipment and supporting automated manufacturing systems. QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications

  • Understanding of GD&T and precision machining processes.
  • Journeyman certification or equivalent technical credentials.

Work Environment

Combination of office and plant environment. Will be required to use safety glasses and wear steel toe shoes while performing specific tasks or while in specific manufacturing areas.
