Job description

CNC Maintenance Mechanic performs all operations to ensure continual operation of equipment and facility with a strong emphasis on CNC service maintenance.

This is a first shift position. Hours are 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM, including one hour of mandatory overtime at the end of shift for a required 45-hour week.

Rate: $35/hr to $40/hr

OT pay is 1.5x the hourly rate for all hours in excess of 40 in a week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a troubleshooter and repair equipment and building utilities.
  • Perform preventive maintenance with work orders on manual and automated machinery, including CNC lathes, millers, saws, grinding and honing equipment.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns to minimize production loss.
  • Inspect equipment to evaluate conditions that could lead to breakdowns or unsafe conditions.
  • Take spindles and chucks out to replace.
  • Ensure axes are functioning properly and fix if not.
  • Disassemble and repair cooling pumps.
  • Work with mostly lathes, some mills, rotary tables, Okuma, Takamaz, Tsugami, Studer, Doosan machines.
  • Operate Fanuc and Okuma controls; conversational programming in the tool room.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, Allen Bradley, Younker, Citizen.
  • Maintain roughly 300 machines; assist in the transition to 3-4 new lines.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 6-8 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Basic CNC programming skills.
  • Basic mathematics and blueprint reading skills.
  • Ability to calibrate instruments.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends to meet customer needs.
