Job summary

Schivo Medical on Long Island is seeking a skilled CNC Maintenance Mechanic to repair and maintain complex CNC machinery and electrical equipment used in manufacturing medical components.

Qualifications

  • Requires 5+ years field knowledge as a multi-craft technician in CNC repair and related fields.
  • Ability to read blueprints, manuals, wiring diagrams.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • High school diploma or GED; 2‑year degree preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

  • Change ball screws, guide rails, and align spindles using indicators.
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance on CNC machines (e.g., Deco2000).
  • Electrical repairs and replacement of control devices; assist with deviations and corrective actions.
  • Initiate repairs and modifications as part of Continuous Improvement and 5S.
  • Control spare parts inventory stock.
  • Support building maintenance and shop preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Monitor environmental, health and safety equipment for production and non-production areas.

CNC Maintenance Mechanic Job Overview

The Service Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining complex CNC machinery and mechanical/electrical equipment for manufacturing medical and firearm components. They ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness.

CNC Maintenance Mechanic Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Must be able to change ball screws, guide rails, and align spindles using indicators.
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform all repair, modifications, adjustments, and preventive/predictive and routine maintenance on production equipment – CNC machines (e.g., Tornos Deco2000).
  • Electrical repairs and/or replacement of control devices, including circuit boards and memory devices; assist Operations with analyzing deviations and defining machine‑related corrective actions.
  • Initiate repairs and modifications as part of Continuous Improvement and process stability (e.g., 5S and Preventive Maintenance).
  • Control spare parts inventory stock.
  • Support all aspects of building maintenance/routine shop preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain environmental, health and safety equipment and systems for both production and non‑production equipment as directed.
CNC Maintenance Mechanic Education And Skills Requirements

High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree in industrial maintenance or a 2‑year technical degree in a related field is preferred, not required. 5+ years field knowledge as a multi‑craft technician in CNC repair, mechanics, industrial electrical systems, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC. Strong repair background.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings (e.g., blueprints, manuals, wiring diagrams).

Must be able to work in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for several hours.

Ability to lift 50 lbs.
