Job summary

Merrill Steel is seeking a maintenance technician to perform preventative and general maintenance on all CNC machines. The role involves coordinating downtime with production, recording calibrations, and ensuring safety protocols including LOTO and fall protection.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of maintenance experience, proficiency with voltage meters, and the ability to manage multiple inspections and logs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of maintenance experience with basic tools.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment and electrical drawings.
• Experience with preventive maintenance on CNC or related systems.
• Proficiency with voltage measurement and electrical troubleshooting.
• Comfort operating cranes and a forklift.
• Willingness to work extended hours and various shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and general maintenance on all CNC machines.
• Coordinate scheduled downtime for repairs and maintenance with production.
• Record quarterly welder calibrations and maintenance logs.
• Inspect, repair, and maintain weld machines, transformers, and related equipment.
• Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections with proper records.
• Maintain organization of repairs and downtime schedules.
• Assist with general maintenance after primary tasks are complete.
• Ensure safety training includes LOTO, aerial lift, fall protection, and confined space.
