Job summary

McWilliams Forge, part of PCC, is seeking a skilled machinist experienced with turning and CNC operations. You will set up and run a variety of machines, including mills and multi-axis setups, following drawings and strict tolerances.

Responsibilities include loading programs, setting tooling and offsets, reading blueprints, monitoring production, and ensuring quality records while maintaining safety and a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience with turning machines and reading drawings to tight tolerances.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to multiple machining processes.
• Experience with inspecting parts and maintaining records.

Job Description

We are seeking a machinist familiar with turning machines. Sets up and operates a variety of machines in machine shop, including but not limited to; milling, turning, drilling, grinding etc. Able to work to close tolerances working from drawings with little or no guidance.

Shift Hours: Saturday and Sunday 5pm-5am

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines)
• Load programs, install tooling, and set work offsets
• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
• Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)

Experience & Education

• Previous manufacturing experience (3+ years)
• Willingness to learn
• CNC programming experience (G-code, Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.)
• Experience with tight tolerances and high-precision parts
• Knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, and materials
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
