Job summary

McWilliams Forge in New Jersey is seeking an experienced machinist skilled with turning and CNC equipment to set up and operate a range of machines in a precision shop. You will read blueprints, load programs, install tooling, and set offsets to achieve tight tolerances on aerospace-grade parts, collaborating with engineers to optimize processes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience with CNC programming (G-code, Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.).
• Proficient with tight tolerances and high-precision parts.
• Knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, and materials.
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
• Willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, multi-axis).
• Load programs, install tooling, and set offsets.
• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
• Monitor operations and adjust as needed.
• Inspect finished parts with calipers, micrometers, gauges.

Job Description

We are seeking a machinist familiar with turning machines. Sets up and operates a variety of machines in machine shop, including but not limited to; milling, turning, drilling, grinding etc. Able to work to close tolerances working from drawings with little or no guidance.

Shift Hours: Saturday and Sunday 5pm-5am

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines)
• Load programs, install tooling, and set work offsets
• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
• Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records
• Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures
• Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and supervisors to improve processes

Experience & Education

• Previous manufacturing experience (3+ years)
• Willingness to learn
