Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a CNC Machinist with structural steel fabrication experience to operate and set up CNC equipment for producing steel components. You will review blueprints and work orders, use hand and power tools, and troubleshoot equipment to maintain production quality and efficiency.

Ideal candidates will have strong blueprint-reading skills, experience with ERP systems (Global Shop preferred), and the physical ability to work on your feet for extended periods while lifting up to 50

Qualifications

• Structural steel fabrication experience is required.
• Hands-on experience operating CNC equipment, particularly combination mill/lathe and drill line machines.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency using hand and power tools.
• Strong computer skills; Global Shop or another ERP system is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and remain on your feet for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run CNC equipment, including combination mill/lathe and drill line machines.
• Review blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine machining and fabrication requirements.
• Operate hand and power tools for machining and assembly work.
• Make machine adjustments to maintain production accuracy and performance.
• Inspect completed components for quality and compliance with specifications.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform basic machine maintenance.
• Enter production information and maintain records in Global Shop (ERP).
• Work with the production team to maintain safe, efficient operations.
