Job summary

SpaceX in Redmond, WA is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist (Starlink) for the 2nd shift to set up and operate multi-axis CNC mills and lathes, read blueprints, and produce precision parts for the Starlink constellation. You will perform drilling, tapping, milling and turning, manage tight tolerances, handle material prep, deburring, and maintain a clean, safe workstation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multi-axis CNC machines (5-axis mills, 6-axis lathes).
• Perform drilling, tapping, milling and turning.
• Complete machining operations from blueprints, drawings and/or verbal instructions.
• Machining complex parts with tight tolerances on various materials.
• Material prep, deburring, hauling chips, oiling machines, and supporting organizational tasks.

CNC MACHINIST (STARLINK) - 2ND SHIFT

We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer antennae that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact and are looking for best-in-class CNC Machinists to help maximize Starlink’s utility for communities and businesses around the globe.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for setting up, operating multi-axis CNC machines (mills and lathes) up to and including 5 Axis mills and 6 axis lathes
• Responsible for all types of drilling, tapping and milling and turning
• Completing machining operations from blueprints, drawings and/or verbal instructions
• Responsible for machining complex, tight tolerances parts and various materials
• Material prep, deburring parts, hauling chips, oiling machines, sweeping up and initiating or assisting in organizational tasks

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 3+ years of experience in the setup and operation of CNC machines
• G-code experience

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Experience with GD&T or interpreting blueprints/manufacturing drawings
• Short run, prototype, non-production machining experience
• Horizontal Mill experience
• Experience running lathes + live tooling

Additional Requirements

• Must be available for 10 hour shifts. Estimated shift time: 2nd shift (4:00PM to 2:30AM)
• Able to lift a minimum of 40lbs. unassisted
• Able to stand for extended periods- 8 hours min
• Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces
• Repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting

Compensation And Benefits

Pay Range:

• Level 1: $23.00 - $29.00
• Level 2: $28.00 - $34.50
• Level 3: $33.00 - $40.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
