Job summary

Kratos Defense is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate vertical milling centers for production parts. You will read prints and routings, perform milling operations, and ensure parts meet quality specifications.

The role requires at least 3 years of hands‑on experience with vertical milling CNCs, strong shop math, and the ability to read measuring tools. A high school diploma is required, with NIMS certification desirable.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• 3 years of on‑the‑job experience setting up and operating Vertical Milling CNCs.
• Basic shop math knowledge and ability to read measuring equipment.
• Fraction and decimal conversion and basic computer skills.
• NIMS CNC certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines and perform related operations.
• Read and interpret prints, routings and blueprints to guide production.
• Measure parts for tolerance using inspection tools and equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area on the shop floor.
• Assist with fixtures, jigs, and shop aids as needed.
