Job summary

- Two + years CNC turning experience required.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Job descriptionSet up, adjust and operate a variety of CNC controlled lathes or machining centers to perform turning, boring, threading, contouring, milling, drilling, tapping, cuts to close tolerances and finish requirements.
- Work from routings, process sheets and blueprints. Use a variety of precision instruments to set-up and inspect work.
- Assist in establishing program requirements. Make machine adjustments to correct deviations from program specifications. Note and report program problems. Make adjustments to program where applicable.
- May recommend tooling arrangement, fixtures, operational sequences. Mount and secure tooling, align and secure fixtures, platens and work pieces. Help make set-up & instruct new or less qualified operators. Run secondary machine or auxiliary operations when applicable.
Qualifications
- Experience with Fanuc controls preferred.
- Solid knowledge of machine shop & CNC techniques.
- Two + years CNC turning experience.
- Solid background in shop math and blueprint reading.
- Experienced in use of hoists and cranes.
- Personal tools & willingness to buy tools as needed.
- Experience on large diameter vertical lathes helpful.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
