Job summary

Solatube (A Kingspan Company) in Vista, California, seeks a skilled Machinist to assemble, repair, modify, and fabricate parts for tools, machines, and production equipment using CNC and manual machining. You will support engineering and production to meet drawings, specs, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in CNC machining, including set-up, programming and maintenance of machines.
• Mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
• Training in tool room machinery and procedures.
• Experience in operation of manual tool room equipment.
• Good communication, organizational, and mathematical skills.
• Familiar with various tool-and-die making methods, materials, procedures, and equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates conventional, special-purpose, and CNC machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.
• Studies blueprints, engineering drawings, CAD models, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Supports Engineering in fabrication, assembly, modification, and testing of prototypes, fixtures, jigs, tooling, and test equipment.
• Uses CAM software to create and modify programs for CNC mills, lathes, and other CNC equipment.
