CNC MACHINIST / PROGRAMMER SKILLED TRADES MASTER

Key Responsibilities:

• The potential candidate shall be proficient in all aspects of CNC programming, machining and inspection.
• The applicant must be proficient in off-line CNC programming, capable of making own set-ups on simple easy to machine parts to single one-of-a-kind complex prototypes on a variety of materials.
• This person must also be capable of providing technical and operational assistance to apprentice machine tool operators.

Basic Qualifications:

• The applicant must have completed a 4-year Machining/Machinist journeyperson apprenticeship program or hold an associate degree in machining or a related field.
• The candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/machining environment.

Physical and Mental Demands:

• Regularly or frequently sitting, talking, hearing, grasping, touching, walking, reaching with hands/arms, and performing repetitive wrist, hand, and/or finger movements.
• Sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less to type documents, read, and use a computer.
• Concentrated attention to proofread documents, create spreadsheets, etc. and application of principles of logical thinking and reasoning to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Apply reasoning to solve practical problems and to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.

Work Environment:

• Moderate noise level (i.e. computers, printers, etc.). May experience a moderate to loud noise level if an assignment is conducted in the High Bay area.
• Indoor temperature-controlled office environment.
• May be safety-sensitive if required to work an assignment in the High Bay area where PPE is required.
