Job summary

Pol-Tech Machining is a Woodruff, SC-based precision shop seeking a skilled CNC Machinist / Programmer. You’ll set up, program, and run CNC machines, interpreting blueprints and GD&T while maintaining tight tolerances. Proficiency in G-code and Mastercam is required, with experience in Swiss lathe, EDM, and multi-axis milling highly valued.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or CNC Programmer in precision machining.
• Proficiency in G-code programming and CAM software (Mastercam).
• Experience with Swiss Lathe, EDM, and multi-axis milling (3, 3+2, 5-axis).

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to produce precision machined components.
• Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs using G-code and CAM software.
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications.
• Perform in-process quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs or tooling as needed.
• Select cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding for each job.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with shop standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform in-process quality inspections using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges


• Troubleshoot machining issues and make program or tooling adjustments as needed


• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding equipment for each job


• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with shop standards

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist and/or CNC Programmer in a precision machining environment


• Proficiency in G-code programming and CAM software (Mastercam)


• Specifically looking for expertise in Swiss Lathe, EDM (or willing to learn quickly), and/or multi-axis milling (3, 3+2, full 5).


• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T callouts


• Experience with CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machining centers


• Strong understanding of speeds, feeds, tooling, and material properties


• Detail-oriented with a commitment to tight tolerances and quality workmanship


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced shop environment
