Job summary

Tec Group Inc is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist/ Programmer to join our team on a long-term contract leading to direct employment. The role involves setting up and operating mills or CNC machines, interpreting drawings, and optimizing CAM programs for efficiency.

The successful candidate will work 40–45 hours per week, adhere to safety procedures, and coordinate with shifts to maintain smooth production and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC milling and programming.
• Ability to read blueprints and work orders.
• Familiarity with CAM/CAD workflows and CAM programming.
• Maintenance of safety procedures and regular preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Produce machined parts by setting up and operating mills or CNC machines.

• Review 3D CAD designs and determine programming steps.

Job description

Long term contract to direct, 40-45 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Produce machined parts by setting up, and operating a mill and/or computer numerical control (CNC) machine
• Plan machining by studying work orders and blueprints
• Set up mills by tramming/indicating vices and/or work material
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs
• Review 3D CAD design
• Determine steps for programming including where materials should be cut
• Convert instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program
• Determine job order and perform associated calculations
• Compose programs and revise existing ones for increased efficiency
