Advanced Metal Works Inc. in Florida is seeking a CNC Operator/Programmer to produce precision parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines while maintaining quality and safety standards.

You will read blueprints and job orders, use Mastercam or CAD/CAM software, select tools, monitor tool wear, change inserts, and perform routine machine maintenance to ensure on-time production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of CNC milling and lathe operations.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC machines to produce parts.
  • Ensure parts meet specifications with measuring tools such as micrometers and height gauges.
  • Select appropriate tools and cutters.
  • Maintain tight tolerances in a production environment.
  • Read blueprints, orders, and tooling instructions.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance.
  • Load parts to fixtures and secure pieces.
  • Position tools and tool holders on heads.
  • Monitor tool wear and replace as needed.
  • Maintain a strong work ethic and overtime flexibility.
  • Work in a fast-paced setting to meet deadlines and support continuous improvement.

Job description

CNC Operator / Programmer Job Purpose: Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities:
  • 1. Use Mastercam, Program (G Code), Set-up & Run various machine tools on a CNC machine.
  • 2. Ensure all components produced meet specifications using appropriate measuring equipment such as (Micrometers, Height Gauges, Bore Gauges and etc).
  • 3. Must be able to select suitable tools and cutters.
  • 4. Candidates will be required to work within very close tolerances and be able to work in a production setting to meet on going production quotas.
  • 5. Read blueprint drawings, job orders, tooling instructions, or standard charts to determine specification procedures.
  • 6. Perform routine machine maintenance.
  • 7. Load and indicate part to fixture and secure the work piece in the holding device.
  • 8. Position and secure tools and tool holders to tool heads.
  • 9. Monitor tool wear, change tools and inserts as required.
  • 10. Good work ethic and flexibility to work overtime is a must.
  • 11. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines, and stand for long period of time.
  • 12. Must be able to contribute to continuous improvement techniques to improve output, quality, cost and delivery.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • 1. Must be able to read & understand drawing and handle measuring instruments.
  • 2. To have basic knowledge on CNC milling and lathe machines.
  • 3. Good discipline and cooperation with others.
  • 4. Must be able to communicate and have interpersonal skill with attention to detail.
  • 5. Must have basic computer knowledge with Mastercam or CAD/CAM experience.
Education and Experience:
  • 1. Prefer 5 years of work experience as a CNC machinist.

We offer competitive hourly pay with medical benefits and paid time off available after one year.

Shift hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm with some flexibility as required to meet production demands.
