Job summary

Grace + Grit Talent Solutions is seeking a CNC Machinist to join our client’s production team in Los Angeles, reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor. You will program and run parts in CAD/CAM, while also producing parts for production and supporting ongoing manufacturing tasks under supervision.

The role requires strong ability to read drawings, set up machines, measure with precision to ±0.001", and design fixtures and tooling with guidance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, perform own set-ups and machine parts to drawings.
• Proficient in machinist hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Ability to machine and measure tolerances to ±0.001" or better.
• Ability to design and make complex tooling and fixtures with guidance and approval.
• Ability to do complex programming using CAD/CAM with guidance and approval.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills for independent and collaborative work.
• Willingness to learn new machines and software.

Responsibilities

• Program and run parts using CAD/CAM software and run production parts.
• Assist in designing fixtures and tooling and creating work instructions under Manufacturing Engineering Manager guidance.
• Help improve shop processes by documenting improvements and standardizing methods.
• Perform production runs and support the machine shop team as needed.

Job description

Our client is seeking a CNC Machinist to join their production team and work under the Machine Shop Supervisor. Program and run parts in machine shop using CAD/CAM software for programming along with running some of these parts for production along with existing production work. Help with improving current shop processes by designing fixtures, tooling, and creating work instructions under the guidance of our Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

$30/hr - $39.60/hr non-exempt + 1 hour OT (not mandatory)

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, perform own set-ups and machine the part to drawings and specifications
• Proficient in the use of machinist hand tools and measuring instruments
• Ability to machine and measure +/- 0.001" or less tolerances
• Ability to design and make complex tooling and fixtures with guidance and approval
• Ability to do complex programming using CAD/CAM with guidance and approval
• Possesses the written, verbal and interaction skills necessary to work both independently and cooperatively
• Willing to learn new machines and software

Preferred Experience:

• Must have experience using CAD/CAM systems, preferably Auto Desk Fusion 360 or NX
• Graduate in a machine tool technology program, machinist apprenticeship program or completion of a Trade School program
