Job summary

Staffmark Group in Eden Prairie, MN is seeking an experienced Machinist to setup and operate CNC and manual equipment, read engineering drawings, and produce precision parts that meet tight tolerances.

Ideal candidates have experience with CNC mills, lathes, and precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers. Training is provided; overtime may be available, with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• One year of trade school in Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred.
• OR a minimum of three years of experience in a machine shop environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, machining prints, and technical work instructions.
• Understanding of machining symbols, tolerances, tooling, and material properties.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment according to work instructions and blueprints.
• Manufacture precision parts while maintaining tight tolerances and quality standards.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, machining prints, and production documentation.
• Select tooling, fixtures, and work-holding methods to ensure efficient production.
• Perform in-process and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machining equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and quality objectives.
• Cross-train in CNC machining, manual machining, surface grinding, and cylindrical grinding operations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and recommend process enhancements.
