Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a full-time CNC/ machinist to set up and operate CNC machines (no programming) in our Minnesota facility. You will perform basic offsets, use grinders and presses, run a Trumpf laser, and form parts with a press brake.

Read blueprints, follow production docs, and ensure quality with routine inspections. You will maintain a clean, safe workspace per 5S standards, communicate issues promptly, and participate in brazing line checks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn CNC machining.
• Ability to read blueprints and inspection procedures.
• Familiarity with hand tools and shop equipment preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines (No programming).
• Perform basic machine offsets and adjustments to maintain part quality.
• Operate grinders, drill presses, belt sanders, and other shop tools safely.
• Run and monitor a Trumpf laser for cutting operations.
• Operate a press brake to form parts per specifications.
• Support brazing line operations, including simple routine checks.
• Follow established inspection procedures to verify part quality.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and production documentation.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following safety and 5S standards.
• Communicate equipment issues, material shortages, or quality concerns to supervisors promptly.
