Perform all required tasks to produce products on CNC machines.

VTL Experience Required

Okuma Live Tool Lathe

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Able to follow detailed work instructions (verbal and written) to set up and operate CNC machines.
  • Validate machine programs and work instructions before machining to assure accuracy.
  • Select tooling, holding fixtures, and accessories to operate and maintain CNC machines.
  • Determine machine reference points and tooling offsets, and input them into the machine control.
  • Set up and run CNC machine for first article to verify program and setup instructions.
  • Make necessary changes and save the proven program in the master file.
  • Notify the programmer of any needed changes to improve the process.
  • Conduct constant checks and inspections during the run to ensure dimensional and surface finish requirements are met.
  • Read and interpret GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerances).
  • Proficient in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial bore gauges, and micro height gauges.
  • Perform deburring, tapping, and polishing to meet dimensions and surface finish standards.
  • Temporary assignments to various Atec facilities may be required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure an efficient work environment.
  • Ensure activities comply with Atec's ISO standards and report deviations.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Understand and adhere to Atec Quality Policy and ISO procedures, participate in continuous improvement activities, and cooperate with audits.

Education And/Or Experience

1-2 years of technical/vocational college or 5+ years related experience, or a combination of education and experience. Ability to work with mathematical concepts and geometry/trigonometry fundamentals.

Physical Demands

Stand, sit, walk, use hands, reach, lift/move up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity required.

Work Environment
