Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist in Newport News, VA. The role involves operating various manual and CNC machines, performing quality inspections, and ensuring dimensions match engineering drawings.

The position requires 18+ eligibility to work in the U.S., ability to lift 40 lbs, and passing a Physical Agility Test. Travel is possible and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
Must be able to lift 40 lbs or more.
Must pass a Physical Agility Test.
May require work in radiation areas or other challenging environments.

Responsibilities

Operate manual and CNC machines (lathes, mills, VMCs, BMs) and troubleshoot operations.
Perform quality inspections and verify dimensions per drawings.
Assist in setup, tooling changes, and process improvements as needed.
