EPTAM Precision Micro-Machining in Lakeville, MN is seeking a Machinist (Milling) for the 2nd shift. The role requires setting up and operating milling machines, inspecting parts, and ensuring quality per customer specifications.
Candidates should have 4+ years' CNC milling experience and CAM software (GibbsCAM preferred). This position offers strong growth and participation in a quality-driven ISO/FDA environment.
Qualifications
- Associates degree or vocational training in machine tool technology or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years' experience with CNC Milling and CAM software (GibbsCAM preferred).
- Experience with CNC Swiss turning is noted but Milling focus emphasized.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments, and support maintenance of machines.
- Inspect parts to ensure tolerances and surface finishes meet customer requirements.
- Perform machine setups with accurate timekeeping, tool monitoring and SPC methods.
- Complete independent parts inspections using various inspection methods, including microscopy.
- Identify material, technical, production and safety issues impacting schedule; communicate to department lead.
- Knowledge of metals and their properties; work with team and respond professionally to feedback.
- Collaborate with team to accommodate production schedule changes; represent company during audits.
- Ensure adherence to SOP and QMS; notify lead of non-conformance and assist root-cause analysis.

Monday - Thursday 2:00pm - 12:30am
COMPENSATION
Total 2nd-Shift Pay:$34.56-$43.20 per hour
Includes base pay of $32.00-$40.00 per hour plus an 8% second-shift differential.
SUMMARY: The Machinist is primarily responsible for the following:
- Set up and operate machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments, and support maintenance of machines.
- Inspect parts to ensure they meet the required tolerances, dimensions, and surface finishes that comply with the customers requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform machine setups to produce products, ensuring consistent results through accurate timekeeping, tool monitoring and statistical control methods.
- Complete independent parts inspections to ensure that customer requirements are being met, using various inspection methods, resources and equipment, including regular use of microscope.
- Identify material, technical, production and safety issues that may impact the manufacturing schedule, communicate concerns to the department Lead
- Knowledge of metals and their respective properties.
- Employees must be able to relate to other people beyond receiving instructions. Can get along with co-workers or peers and respond appropriately to feedback from a supervisor in a professional manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the team and the department lead to accommodate production schedule changes.
- Represent the company, as required, during customer, internal and ISO audits.
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and the Quality Management System (QMS), identify potential deviations, and notify the department Lead of non-conformance, assist with root cause analysis as requested.
EDUCATION:Associates degree or vocational training in machine tool technology, technical, or equivalent work experience.
EXPERIENCE: 4+ years' experience with CNC Swiss turning (Star, Tornos, Tsugami), or CNC Milling (Haas, Mazak Brother) and CAM software (GibbsCAM preferred) in an ISO regulated manufacturing environment. Internships and PT experience acceptable.
