Job summary

FM Industries, a premier manufacturing solutions provider in Fremont, CA, seeks a skilled CNC Horizontal Mill Machinist 3 to set up and run complex parts on Mazak6800 with minimal supervision.

You will read blueprints, program and run Mazak6800, perform first-piece inspections, monitor tool wear, ensure SPC compliance, and support process development. This role offers competitive pay and solid benefits.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of related machinist experience preferred.
• Skilled setup machinist for Mazak6800 required.
• 5 years of trade school or equivalent apprenticeship preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T.
• Extensive knowledge of CNC programming and G & M code.
• Demonstrated ability to operate computer numerical control machines.
• Ability to read blueprints to ensure accuracy in part making.
• Knowledge of shop safety practices and PPE use.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run Mazak6800 parts with minimal supervision.
• Read blueprints and tooling instructions; ensure specs.
• Program, set up, and run Mazak6800 work.
• Perform first-piece inspection and develop check sheets.
• Ensure accurate routing for work orders.
• Manage DNC communications for tool programs.
• Inspect and measure parts to maintain SPC charts.
• Monitor tooling wear and replace as needed.
• Test CNC tool operation and adjust controls.
• Manually program machines as needed.
