Big Rock Machining in Chesaning, MI is hiring CNC machinists at early and experienced levels. You will operate CNC mills and lathes, read drawings, follow travelers and setup sheets, and ensure part dimensions using calipers and micrometers.

Early-career candidates will develop setup, inspection, and programming skills with hands-on training; experienced machinists will handle independent setups, Mastercam, troubleshooting, and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CNC experience or related training.
• Ability to read basic machining drawings with tolerances.
• Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and standard gauges.
• Basic shop math and attention to detail.
• Reliability and safe work habits.
• Mastercam experience and GD&T knowledge for experienced applicants.

Responsabilités

• Operate CNC mills, lathes, or other assigned equipment based on your skills and training.
• Read drawings and follow job travelers, setup sheets, and work instructions.
• Check dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and gauges; monitor tool wear and part quality.
• Complete production and inspection records; keep area clean and safe.
• Work with teammates to move jobs through machining, inspection, and assembly.
• Experienced: independently set up tooling, fixtures, and workholding; prove out Mastercam toolpaths and CNC programs; troubleshoot problems.
