Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC equipment, adjust tooling and programs, and produce quality parts. You will create programs, inspect parts, and document results with a focus on accuracy and on-time delivery.

Requirements include 4+ years of CNC machining experience, ability to read aerospace blueprints, and proficiency with measuring devices. Strong English communication and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in CNC machining.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • English reading/writing/comprehension required.
  • Ability to read aerospace blueprint drawings.
  • Ability to edit CNC machine programs.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and run CNC equipment.
  • Make changes to tooling, programs, speeds, and cutter paths under supervision.
  • Create CNC programs.
  • Perform in-process inspections and first article inspections.
  • Document inspections and part counts.
  • Manage buy-off for production with supervisor approval.
  • Maintain safety and organized lean work environment.
  • Supply own measuring and hand tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by department manager.

Job description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a CNC MACHINIST that can start working right away. The CNC Machinist will set-up and operate CNC equipment, make all necessary changes to CNC tooling and programs, create programs, and perform their own inspection.

Job Requirements:
  • Make all necessary changes to tooling, programs, speeds, cutter paths under minimum supervision.
  • Set-up and run CNC equipment.
  • Perform in-process inspections and simple first article inspections.
  • Perform buy-off for production at CNC machine centers with supervisor’s approval.
  • Recognize and replace any dull or chipped tools.
  • Document inspections as required.
  • Create programs at CNC machines.
  • Use and read measuring devices necessary for inspection of machined parts.
  • Keep accurate part counts.
  • Re-evaluate and/or reject defected parts as required.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with employees across all levels and departments at APP.
  • Work safe and maintain an organized, lean work environment.
  • Strong commitment to good attendance and being on time as it is critical to meet production needs.
  • Supply own measuring and hand tools.
  • Perform any other duties not mentioned above when instructed to do so by the department manager.
Skill Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience with CNC machining and techniques.
  • Ability to follow specific instructions and directions.
  • Able to work in a demanding fast paced environment.
  • English (reading, writing, verbal and comprehension).
  • Use and read measuring devices necessary for inspection of machined parts.
  • Must have aerospace blueprint technical drawings reading ability.
  • Ability to edit CNC machine programs.

Compensation:

$24.00 - $32.00 an hour. This is the lowest to highest hourly rate we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
