Job summary

American StaffCorp in Tulsa, OK seeks a machinist for a weekend night shift. Hours are 5:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Friday through Sunday.

A minimum of 10 years of experience with mechanical processes, mills and lathes, and basic CNC controls is required. Strong English reading/writing and basic shop math are essential to perform part loading, inspection, and deburr tasks safely. The role involves loading/unloading, protecting machines, keeping track of production time, and following PPE guidelines

Qualifications

• Basic shop math with fractions and decimals.
• Knowledge of inspection tools and proper use.
• Basic hand tools and mechanical fasteners knowledge.
• Able to use computers and CNC controls at a basic level.
• GED or HS diploma is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload product and operate in fixtures and operations.
• Protect machines and products by following procedures such as part loading and safe transport of product.
• Record in-process inspections against tolerances and customer specifications.
• Perform basic deburr operations (edge breaking, light surface blending).
• Interact with production tracking tools to charge time to job orders.

Job description

Hours are 5:30p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Friday through Sunday. Work 36 get paid for 40. Minimum of 10 years of Experience required.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
• Load and unload product to be machined in a number of fixtures and operations.
• Protect machines and machined product by following processes and procedures such as part loading, being in control of the machine, and safely transporting product over short distances.
• Perform and record in process inspection actions such as measuring and validating part features in light of customer supplied dimensional tolerances and specifications.
• Perform basic deburr operations such as edge breaking and light surface blending using a number of deburr tools and media.
• Interact with production tracking tools such as Labor Track and Shop Trak to charge time to job orders and claim parts at the end of the shift.

Required Skills:

• The ability to read and write English.
• An introductory competence in shop math such as working with fractions and decimals.
• A basic knowledge of inspection tools and their proper use.
• A basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical application regarding nuts and bolts.
• A basic knowledge of part holding methods and procedures.
• A basic knowledge of deburr tools and methods.
• The ability to interact with computers and CNC controls at a basic level.

Required Experience:

• This position requires basic experience working with mechanical processes and methods such as hand tools, and light equipment such as saws, drills and pneumatic tools.
• Need significant experience running mills and lathes.

Level of Education:

• GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
