Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Promontory, UT is seeking a Machinist at Level 2 or Level 3 to join a 4x10 swing shift (Sunday–Wednesday, 4 pm–2:30 am). This 100% onsite role focuses on quality inspections, machine setup, and training peers in CNC operations.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years on 3-axis machines and Mastercam experience, with a readiness to work in a fast-paced environment. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a 2-year technical degree or certificate, and the ability to

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience (Level 2).
• Must be able to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance.
• A minimum of a 2-year technical degree or certificate in machine shop technology.
• 2+ years’ experience on 3 Axis CNC machines; 4/5 Axis a plus.
• Proficiency in CAM programming with Mastercam preferred.
• Experience running manual machines and performing set-ups.
• Experience with Siemens, Fanuc, & HAAS Controllers preferred.
• Ability to read/interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Expert in GD&T and CAD model interpretation for Mastercam.
• Lean manufacturing principles knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Inspect in-process and final parts to ensure quality.
• Care and maintenance of CNC equipment.
• Ensure tooling and materials readiness.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Train others in CNC setup, operation, and maintenance.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively.
• Mentor mid to upper-skill machine operators.
• Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
