Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Machinist (Level 2/3) for our Commerce, CA site on 1st shift (5:00am - 2:30pm, 9/80). You will set up and operate HAAS/DMG Mori 5-axis machines, read drawings, and ensure tolerances while leaning out processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with related experience; 4 extra years can substitute.
• CNC 5-axis machining experience required.
• Experience with composite, honeycomb, aluminum, stainless steel and titanium.
• Ability to read blueprints, production specs, and GD&T.
• Experience with GD&T and following setup instructions.
• Experience running machines and setting up operations.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate HAAS, DMG Mori lathe and 5-axis DMG Mori mills.
• Determine sequence of operations and setup methods.
• Plan machining by studying orders, blueprints, and tolerances (GD&T).
• Lay out stock, measure reference points, and select tools and materials.
• Monitor machine feeds and speeds during operations.
• Train and coach on standard work and 5S; support lean initiatives.
