Job summary

Kelly, in partnership with a growing manufacturing client, is seeking a CNC Machinist in Solon, OH. This is a direct hire position with full benefits, vacation, and compensation package upon hire. Hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday–Friday.

Pay is $30 per hour, potentially higher based on experience. Responsibilities include setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis centers, reading complex blueprints, editing programs, and ensuring part quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical degree or apprenticeship preferred.
• 3+ years CNC machining experience.
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to independently perform machine setups and adjustments.
• Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and machining processes.
• Experience editing G-code and M-code programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop an environment of continual improvement through Lean tools.
• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining centers.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T callouts, and process sheets.
• Select and install tooling, fixtures, and work offsets.
• Edit CNC programs at the machine as needed.
• Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.
• Maintain production efficiency while ensuring part quality.
• Train and mentor entry-level machinists and operators.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain clean work areas.
