Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a hands-on CNC Machining Lead to lead CNC machining operations and support growth with a well known manufacturer local to Naugatack, CT. This role oversees programming, setup, process development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement while partnering with production leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing.

• Experience programming, setting up, and operating multi-axis CNC turning, mill-turn, or Swiss-type machines.
• Strong knowledge of G-code/CAM programming and process optimization.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.
• Experience selecting tooling, workholding, inspection methods, and production processes for tight-tolerance parts.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and quality inspection practices.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, operate, and optimize multi-axis CNC turning, mill-turn, and Swiss-type machines, including Tsugami equipment.
• Lead new job launches from blueprint review through first-article production.
• Develop and maintain CNC programs, setup sheets, tooling documentation, and process standards.
• Perform machine setups, prove-outs, and first-piece inspections.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.
• Train and mentor CNC operators on setups, machine operation, and best practices.
• Support AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality requirements and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage tooling, workholding, and CNC-related inventory.

CNC Machinist Lead

Direct Hire in Naugatack, CT

Monday-Friday 7am-4pm

Starting Pay is based on experience level $40 - $50/hr

Manpower is seeking a hands‑on CNC Machining Lead to lead CNC machining operations and support future additive manufacturing growth with a well known manufacturer local to Naugatack, CT. This role is responsible for programming, setup, process development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement while partnering with production leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Program, set up, operate, and optimize multi-axis CNC turning, mill-turn, and Swiss-type machines, including Tsugami equipment.
• Lead new job launches from blueprint review through first-article production.
• Develop and maintain CNC programs, setup sheets, tooling documentation, and process standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Tsugami machines (TMA8F, B0126V, SS38MAH-5AX or similar).
• Experience with ESPRIT EDGE CAM software.
• Aerospace, defense, medical, or other precision manufacturing experience.
• Experience mentoring machinists/operators and creating setup documentation.
