Job summary

MOHR Talent is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist in Waverly, MS to join our aerospace and defense manufacturing operation. You will set up and operate CNC milling machines, read blueprints, interpret GD&T, and ensure parts meet demanding tolerances on large, complex components.

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment.

• Experience with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture high-precision components.
• Read and interpret blueprints and machining specifications; ensure conformance to tolerances.
• Perform machine setups, tooling changes, and offsets; troubleshoot setup issues.
• Inspect finished and in-process parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and indicators.

Pay: $28.85-$31.25 per hour

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with strong CNC milling and machine setup experience to join a growing aerospace and defense manufacturing operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who enjoys working on large, complex precision components, solving machining challenges, and producing parts to demanding tolerances.

The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and operating CNC milling machines, with large-bed or large-format machining experience strongly preferred. Candidates should be comfortable working independently from technical drawings, making machine adjustments, inspecting their own work, and troubleshooting machining or setup issues.

What You'll Be Doing

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture high-precision components.
• Operate large-bed or large-format CNC milling equipment used for complex machined parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, machining specifications, and work instructions.
• Work with GD&T and tight dimensional tolerances.
• Perform machine setups, tooling changes, offsets, and machining adjustments.
• Troubleshoot setup issues, tooling problems, machine conditions, and machining inefficiencies.
• Inspect finished and in-process parts using:
  • Micrometers
  • Calipers
  • Height gauges
  • Indicators
  • Other precision measuring equipment
• Perform first-piece, first-article, and in-process inspections.
• Machine aerospace-grade metals and other precision materials.
• Make CNC program or G-code adjustments when needed and when qualified.
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve machining challenges.
• Perform basic machine diagnostics and preventive maintenance activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Experience performing machine setups rather than only loading and unloading parts.
• Ability to independently read and work from technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong understanding of GD&T.
• Experience machining parts to tight tolerances.
• Strong knowledge of precision measuring and inspection equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup problems.
• Experience with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, or similar systems.

Highly Preferred Experience

• Large-bed CNC milling machines.
• Large-format or oversized component machining.
• Multi-axis CNC machining.
• Aerospace, defense, aviation, or other high-tolerance precision manufacturing.
• CNC program editing or G-code modification.
• CAM software.
• First Article Inspection.
• Machining aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, or other aerospace-grade materials.
• NIMS, Haas, trade-school, apprenticeship, or other machining certifications.

Compensation

$28.85-$31.25 per hour, depending on experience.

In addition to hourly compensation, employees are eligible for a:

$1,000 quarterly bonus

This provides experienced machinists with the opportunity to earn approximately $60,000-$65,000 annually before quarterly bonus compensation.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

• Stand for extended periods, including shifts of 10+ hours.
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive machining activities.
• Safely use required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear.
