This is a 1st shift po sition: 6:00am-2:30pm. Hourly pay rate stating from $26.00/hour.

Summary:

Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. Fabricate, modify, or repair parts to maintain rollers used in paper industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, and machining procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Program, set up and operate CNC machines, including mills and lathes, to perform precision machining operations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to determine machining requirements and specifications.
  • Select and install appropriate cutting tools, attachments, and accessories for each job.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure accuracy and quality of finished parts.
  • Make necessary adjustments to machine settings to achieve desired results and maintain tolerances.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Inspect finished parts for defects and ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of machining operations, including job setups, tool changes, and production data.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in machining or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machine programing, setup, operation, and maintenance.
  • Experience with conversational and G-code.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain tight tolerances.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience on setting up and operating manual machines is a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
