Job summary

Kurt Machining in Minneapolis is seeking a Machinist Intern who is pursuing a manufacturing career. You will gain hands-on experience operating CNC mills and lathes, loading parts, and assisting in quality checks under guidance from our engineers.

Hours are 1st or 2nd shift, with 15–40 hours per week. The 2nd shift includes a 20% differential. Starting pay is $21.00–$22.00 per hour, based on knowledge, experience, and education, with opportunities to learn advanced manufacturing technologies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Enrolled in 1st year Machine Tool Technology or Automated Systems & Robotics program.
• Mechanical & Technical capacity required.
• Ability to read blueprints and build to specifications.
• Knowledge of CNC controllers and tools.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to fabricate parts.
• Load parts, run cycles, and detect malfunctions.
• Perform inspection of machined products and document results.
• Read blueprints and verify specifications.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Assist in other areas as needed.
