Job summary

PTS Advance is seeking an experienced Machinist III in Tuscaloosa, AL to operate CNC mills and turning centers on high-tolerance parts, including prototype work. You will read complex blueprints, select tooling, and ensure tight tolerances with precision instruments.

The role is full-time and direct-hire with an established manufacturer, offering hands-on work with mills, lathes, grinders, and CNC centers on real precision parts beyond basic operation.

Qualifications

• 6-8+ years of hands-on machining experience.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T comprehension.
• Confidence setting up unproven, first-run parts.
• Solid math fundamentals, including fractions.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run CNC milling and turning centers from complex blueprints.
• Machine medium to high complexity parts, including unproven and prototype work.
• Select cutting tools and workholding for a range of materials and processes.
• Hold tight tolerances using calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments.
• Deburr and inspect finished parts against spec.
• Log production and process data in the ERP system.
• Weigh in on tooling and process improvements alongside engineering.
