Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Machinist level 3 at the Lake Charles Fabrication Center to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes for precision tooling, fixtures, and production support parts.

You will design and build custom fixturing and tooling for prototype applications, read blueprints/3D CAD models, and collaborate with engineers to refine processes. This role includes 5S/FOD adherence and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with minimum 5 years in a machine shop.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering specifications.
• Experience with lathes, mills, grinders and precision measuring tools.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes for tooling and production.
• Design and build fixtures and tooling for assembly and flight hardware.
• Perform manual machining for tool repair or prototype development.
• Read blueprints and 3D CAD models; verify machining parameters.
• Collaborate with engineers and quality personnel to resolve issues.
• Maintain 5S and FOD standards; ensure safe operations.
