Job summary

Rivian is seeking a CNC Machinist III to program 3‑5 axis mills and lathes using advanced CAD/CAM software for precision manufacturing. You will analyze designs, set up and operate CNC machines, and collaborate with engineers and production teams to produce high‑quality components with tight tolerances.

Ideal candidates have 4–6 years of CNC experience, strong CAD/CAM skills (Fusion 360, Mastercam, Powermill), and a solid understanding of GD&T.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years CNC machining experience with CAM software.
• Proficient in reading 3D CAD data and GD&T.
• Experience programming and operating 3–5 axis mills and lathes.
• Familiar with Fanuc/Heidenhain/Haas controls.

Responsibilities

• Review Jira tickets to determine material, tooling, fixturing.
• Optimize machining sequences with Critical Path Method to meet deadlines.
• Discuss manufacturability issues with engineering and provide DFM feedback.
• Program parts using CAM software and set up multi‑axis machines.
• Perform inspection using GD&T and precision tools to ensure tolerances.
• Maintain machine and contribute to continuous process improvements.
