Qualifications

Job description

Under minimal supervision, operate, set up, and program CNC (computer numerical controlled) machinery to manufacture metallic and non-metallic parts. Have proficient G and M code knowledge, experience in CAD/CAM software, part processing, fixture design, and work holding knowledge. This candidate must also possess strong leadership skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Reads and interprets blueprints and has proficient knowledge of GD&T.
2. Properly and safely loads and unloads raw materials.
3. Proficient in use of measuring instruments and part layout.
4. Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
5. Ability to power on and operate CNC Mills with minimal assistance. Must be self-sufficient.
6. Must be familiar with MAZAK controls, Haas controls, and Fanuc controls.
7. Must demonstrate a proficient understanding of cutting tools.
8. Properly uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling.
9. Understand and perform complex tool wear offsets and work shifts.
10. Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.
11. Assists in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work environment.
12. Provides feedback and input into process improvement within the department.
13. Proficient understanding and ability to follow manufacturing processes and procedures.
14. Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures.
15. Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
16. Communicates effectively with co-workers and management, verbally and in writing.
17. Attends scheduled meetings and actively participates.
18. Is flexible with time and schedule to meet customer or company needs.
19. Communicates honestly, professionally, and respectfully, demonstrating effective listening skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques.
• 7+ years preferred experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience with CNC Machining.
• High school diploma or GED required; associates or other training preferred.

• Ability to interpret and translate instructions professionally and respectfully.
• Basic mathematical skills, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
