Job summary

IDEX in Denver, CO is seeking a skilled CNC machinist to operate a range of machine tools including mills, lathes, grinders, and wire EDM. You will read drawings, write and modify CNC programs, design fixtures, and maintain Kanban on the shop floor while collaborating with the BAND-IT IDEX team.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in high mix/low volume environments, experience with HAAS, Mastercam or ESPRIT, and a track record mentoring peers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• NIMS Level II Certification, required.
• Applicable AAS degree or certification, preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in a high mix/low volume shop, preferred.
• Experience working with CNC mills and lathes, HAAS preferred.
• Experience working with wire EDM equipment, GF/Agie Charmilles preferred.
• Experience with four plus axis machines, preferred.
• Experience programming in Mastercam and/or ESPRIT software, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design fixtures to facilitate efficient machining.

SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will write programs, set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and assemblies, inspect parts and assemblies with precision measuring tools and equipment. The team member is expected to adhere to all EHS polices and IDEX values.

Report to: Production Supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Adhere to all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations, policies, and procedures. Actively participate in applicable Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs. Independently set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment, including but not limited to: mills, lathes, grinders, wire EDM. Write programs for CNC machines (mills, lathes, wire EDM) and make edits to existing programs as necessary while documenting all new programs and program modifications utilizing CAM software. Design fixtures to facilitate efficient machining of components. Documents their activities in CMMS system as well as through written and verbal communication Write setup and inspection procedures. Plan and kit machining jobs. Help maintain parts Kanban in the shop and on the factory floor. Work as part of the BAND-IT IDEX team by interfacing with various factory resources to execute the business plan. Support continuous improvement & New Product Development team through the proposal and execution of solutions as well as participation in existing programs. Mentor and train other CNC machinists. Exhibit IDEX values in interactions with fellow team members and the way you execute your work. Ability to work overtime and weekends as necessary. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Skilled CNC machinist capable of operating in a self-directed shop. Ability to read and interpret drawings, technical instructions, codes, standards and specifications including basic tolerancing & experience with GD&T. Good written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated problem solving abilities. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Knowledge of good manufacturing practices. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent, required. NIMS Level II Certification, required. Applicable AAS degree or certification, preferred. 7+ years of experience in a high mix/low volume shop, preferred. Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $67,400.00 - $101,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
