Job summary

IDEX is seeking a Production Assembler in New York to join our manufacturing team. You will perform pump assembly on the production line under supervision, ensuring the work pace and quality meet expectations.

This role requires at least 1 year of manufacturing experience and a high school diploma, with a strong eye for detail. You will follow standard work instructions, maintain 6S on the primary line, train new hires, and keep accurate records while complying with PPE guidelines.

Qualifications

  • 1 year minimum manufacturing and material handling experience preferred.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Competencies: follow standard work instructions and calculate required metrics.
  • Understanding of electronic assembly and pump operation concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble pumps on production line under supervision, ensuring pace meets expectations.
  • Monitor production metrics and report defects with detailed descriptions.
  • Ensure materials are available on the line and maintain 6S on primary line.
  • Train new employees and perform shop mathematics on complex specs.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure PPE compliance.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Assembler will be responsible for the daily work associated with the assembly of pumps by the Production Manager or team lead.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Work on production line, pay attention to instructions from supervisor/line lead who directs the flow of work ensuring the pace meets expectations
  • Monitor metrics as assigned (production measurements)
  • Communicate any defects or other problems to supervisor/line lead using data, clearly describe the defect in detail so that improvement can be implemented
  • Responsible for meeting customer expectation of performance, quality, on-time delivery, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all production material is available on the line
  • Responsible for working 5S on the line always enforcing best practice
  • Complies with required use of Personal Protective Equipment
  • Participates in operational excellence processes (continues improvement events, RIE's)
  • Perform assembly related to sub-assemblies and pumps
  • Perform inspections to insure units are functioning properly
  • Maintain accurate records
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Experience 1-year minimum manufacturing and material handling experience preferred
  • Education High school diploma or equivalent
  • Competencies Perform positions on the production line within established standard time requirements (to be demonstrated at any time, without notice)
  • Calculate any required metrics

  • Maintain and understand 6S on primary line, while respecting it for all other lines

Total Rewards

The starting compensation for this position is $25.55 per hour.

This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
