Job summary

Emerson Electric Co in Aiken, SC is seeking a Machinist II to join our Fabrication team. You will operate and maintain CNC machining processes, read blueprints with GD&T, and perform precision inspections to ensure part conformity. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will set up machines, adjust tooling, and perform routine TPM activities while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and 5S in the work area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience performing at a Machinist I level or equivalent CNC machining experience.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and process documentation.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment and performing machining calculations.
• Working knowledge of CNC machine setup and operation.
• Ability to perform routine offset adjustments and basic feed and speed modifications to maintain quality and production requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, routers, process documentation, and work instructions.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers, comparators, pitch micrometers, and other inspection tools.
• Ability to effectively communicate quality concerns, production issues, and improvement opportunities with operators, leads, supervisors, engineering, and maintenance personnel.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies and procedures; stop work if unsafe conditions exist.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, routers, and process documentation.
• Verify revision levels and ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Perform dimensional inspections and adjust tooling, feeds, speeds as required.
• Independently set up and operate CNC machining processes to meet safety, quality, and productivity targets.
• Perform machine setups and changeovers, including tooling and offsets.
• Install, replace, and touch off tooling as required.
• Maintain product quality and process stability with offsets and wear adjustments.
• Recover machines from tooling issues and interruptions while sustaining production.
• Load/unload raw materials and components to support production.
