Verus Aerospace, LLC is seeking a CNC Machinist II to operate and set up CNC machines for aerospace parts, primarily aluminum and titanium. The role requires strong precision, setup skills, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.

You will measure parts with precision tools, troubleshoot setup and in-process issues, and maintain equipment while upholding safety and quality standards. A technical college certification is advantageous.

Qualificações

• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible CNC milling experience, aerospace industry preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical college certification is a plus.
• Basic math and geometry knowledge; ability to read blueprints/drawings.
• Experience with Fanuc and Siemens CNC controls; read and interpret setup books.
• Must follow work order instructions and verbal directions; strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication with supervision at all levels; safety and quality oriented.

Responsabilidades

• Operate CNC machines to produce complex aerospace parts, primarily aluminum and titanium.
• Run CNC machines independently with minimal assistance (<15% of the time).
• Set up machines with fixtures and required tooling for new part numbers (<15% supervision).
• Take measurements with gauges, calipers, indicators, and micrometers to verify setup accuracy.
• Tear down existing machine setup and tooling; return items to proper locations.
• Aptitude to run multi-spindle machines and perform basic machine maintenance.
• Observe machining operations for quality conformance and troubleshoot issues.
• Ensure parts meet engineering requirements and run times; keep work area clean.
• Assist CNC Machinist I as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

The CNC Machinist II will operate industrial devices that generate manufactured parts. Essential skills are technical knowledge, setting up, and operating a CNC machine. While maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; and maintaining equipment and supplies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines to produce complex aerospace manufactured parts primarily out of aluminum and titanium
• Run CNC machines independently with minimal additional assistance [<15% of the time]
• Setup machines with fixtures and required tooling to produce a new part number [with minimal supervision required (<15% of the time)]
• Take measurements to adequately ensure the set-up is accurate, using precision measuring tools such as; gauges, calipers, indicators and micrometers. [with minimal supervision required (<15% of the time)]
• Tear down existing machine set-up and tooling. Returning all items to their proper location
• Aptitude to run multi spindle machines
• Clean and prepare machine for next set-up.
• Diligently observe the machining operations to ensure part meets the engineering requirements; using precision measurement tools to take accurate measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting controls; replacing worn tools; while adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
• Consistently produces a part within the standard run times
• Perform basic troubleshooting of set-up issues
• Perform basic troubleshooting of in-process machining issues
• Perform basic machine maintenance activities such as; check coolant fluid levels, add coolant, empty chip bins, etc.
• Clean work area a minimum of once per shift
• Assist CNC Machinist I as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from an accredited technical college a plus
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible CNC milling experience, aerospace industry is preferred
• Communicate effectively with all levels of supervision (Leads, Supervisors, Managers, Site Executives)
• Possess basic math and geometry knowledge
• Elementary knowledge of engineering principals helpful
• Basic knowledge of how to read and interpret blue prints/drawings
• Basic knowledge of how to use precision measuring tools (i.e.: gauges, calipers, indicators, micrometers, etc)
• Must be able to follow work order instructions, setup book instructions and verbal instructions
• Must have recent experience with Fanuc and Siemens CNC controls
