Job summary

Regal Rexnord Corp in Simi Valley, CA is seeking a CNC Lathe machinist who reads drawings and programs, sets up, operates, and adjusts CNC Lathe machines to produce parts per specifications.

Under supervision, you will inspect parts, document in-process quality, and seek process improvements while supporting training of junior machinists; must handle up to 25 lbs and comply with AS9100/Lean environments.

Qualifications

• At least 3–5 years experience in CNC Lathe operation and set‑up.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and written instructions.
• Knowledge of indicators, gauges, dial bores and inspection methods.
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs; follow safety and quality procedures.
• Awareness of AS9100, Lean and Six Sigma is a plus.

Expected Salary

$25.00 to $31.00 per hour

Brief Description

CNC Lathe machinist is responsible for producing work in the most efficient manner while meeting the drawing/planning specification /requirements.

Under general supervision, sets‑up, operates, and adjusts CNC Lathe machines. Works from drawings and written instructions to create parts. Able to read and interpret CNC programs. May need to make offsets to programs on CNC Machines. Requires knowledge of various metals and of measurements used in the machining process.

May assist and train less experienced machinists.

Key Accountabilities

• Completes set‑ups with general supervision/assistance.
• Responsible for all phases of part operation set‑up to achieve first article acceptance.
• Perform and maintain accurate in‑process quality inspection and records.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to reduce part quality variation.
• Continuously improve processes, procedures, and eliminate waste.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Desirable Experience and Capabilities

• At least three to five (3‑5) years experience in operation set‑up on CNC Lathe equipment.
• Skilled in the use of indicator, gage, dial bores, and plate inspection methods for first article and in‑process inspection of precision machined parts.
• Ability to maintain close tolerances (within .0005") of ID's, hold .0005 profile, roundness.
• Knowledge of cutting tools feeds, speeds, and inserts tool life for aerospace machining.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions and interpret blue print and quality requirements.
• Ability to communicate with employees and management in a positive manner.
• Ability to lift a maximum of 25 lbs. (over 25 lbs. with assistance).
• Ideal candidate will have experience with AS9100, 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma.
