Job summary

Atlas Copco Group’s Edwards Vacuum division seeks a CNC Machinist II for the 2nd shift at our Buffalo, NY facility. You will independently operate CNC machines, interpret blueprints, and support process improvements in a busy manufacturing environment.

The role requires 4–8 years of CNC experience, ability to handle multiple machines, and strong teamwork. Proactive problem-solving and adherence to safety and quality SOPs are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Independently operate HMC, mill-turn, grinder, and balancer machines with minimal supervision.
• Follow all safety, quality, and SOP requirements.
• Identify and report process inefficiencies or equipment issues.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization (6S) in assigned work areas.
• Provide feedback to engineers and team leads on recurring issues and potential improvements.
• Assist in mentoring and training Tier 1 machinists.
• Accurately interpret blueprints, perform in-process inspections, and make basic offsets or adjustments.

• Salary Range: $21.63 - $41.83per hour Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.

Your role

CNC Machinist II are expected to operate a variety of CNC machines independently, troubleshoot common issues, and contribute to process improvements. This role requires sound judgment, intermediate technical skills, and active engagement in problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently operate HMC, mill-turn, grinder, and balancer machines with minimal supervision.
• Consistently follow all safety, quality, and SOP requirements.
• Identify and report process inefficiencies or equipment issues.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization (6S) in assigned work areas.
• Provide feedback to engineers and team leads on recurring issues and potential improvements.
• Assist in mentoring and training Tier 1 machinists.
