Job summary

Atlas Copco Group's Edwards Vacuum division in Buffalo, NY seeks an Assembly & Test Technician to build and test modules, cables and dry pumps in line with engineered drawings. This on-site role supports multiple work centers and ensures quality output on the production line.

You will follow assembly/test procedures, maintain a clean safety-focused workspace, train teammates when needed, and help drive efficiency while reporting to the Assembly & Test Technician Leader.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent / associated experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical components and assembly/test principles.
• Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and diagrams.
• Experience with hand tools and small power tools, including pneumatic.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Salary Range: $18.27 - $25.96

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.

Your role

As an Assembly & Test Technician, your mission is tosupport various work centers, including electronics, pump module assembly, system assembly & test, and final assembly, to ensure seamless production flow and high-quality output. The A&T Technician will primarily build and assemble modules, cables and dry pumps using engineered drawings and documented requirements. The A&T Technician is required to meet the build standard as defined in the assembly and test procedures and maintain a continuous throughput in their area of responsibility. You will report to the Assembly & Test Technician Leader.

You will:

• Assemble and test modules, cables and dry pumps in line with the daily production plan – focusing on quality and output targets.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Follows assembly and test instructions and procedures to meet output quality requirements.
• Support the training of team members and collaborate to drive improvement and efficiency.
• Maintaining a good working relationship with department colleagues and the supporting departments.
• Communicate and seek guidance where there are errors or difficulty in build.
• Perform quality work checks to ensure the assembly meets quality standards.

• High School diploma or equivalent / associated experience.
• Knowledge and experience of the principles of mechanical component constructions and assembly and test. Dependent on assigned area.
• Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and diagrams.
• Experience with hand tools and small power tools, including pnuematic.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Moving Objects/Lifting/Carrying: Frequently moves, transports, or positions materials, involving exertion up to 10 pounds occasionally or negligible amounts frequently; trunk strength for repeated support.
• Bending/Twisting/Reaching: Positions self by bending or twisting the body continually or almost continually (26% of the time), requiring flexibility.
• Repetitive Motions: Performs repetitive actions continually or almost continually (48% of the time), often involving prolonged sitting or standing with repetitive arm/leg use.
• Other Environmental Factors: Exposed to noise, contaminants, or distractions daily (41-52% of the time); wears protective equipment (e.g., gloves, safety shoes) every day (91% of the time).
