Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a Machinist II 1st shift in Grand Junction, CO to operate CNC mills and lathes, read blueprints, and ensure precision components meet GD&T specs. Contract to Hire position with a $34–$36 per hour rate. Must have 5 years of CNC experience, strong metrology skills, and ability to follow safety and 6S standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required; technical machining training preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience operating and setting up CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machining equipment.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Proficiency with CNC machine setup, G & M codes/Mazatrol, and precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining equipment to produce precision components.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications to manufacture parts accurately.
• Inspect finished components using calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to ensure quality standards.
