Job description

Kurt Workholding has set the standard for quality and reliability with machine vises and workholding technology for over 60 years. Our innovative angle lock design vises have built our reputation and allowed us to expand into a variety of other manufacturing sectors including 5-axis vises, workholding towers, automation and quality control. Kurt Workholding also provides manufacturers custom engineered solutions to help them maximize efficiency and quality.

Kurt Manufacturing is seeking a CNC Machinist II to join our team within our Products Division in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. The CNC Machinist II is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating numerically controlled machine tools. This role involves performing a series of progressive machining operations on repetitive workpieces, ensuring close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $28.51 to $36.10. The exact rate may be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, and education.

Essential Functions

  • Work from programming instructions, operational data and machine set up instructions defining and coding tool arrangements, material clamping methods, machine calibrations and console settings.
  • Check parts for conformance to specifications.
  • Operators may be required to run more than one unit simultaneously.
  • Requires a broad knowledge of machining techniques and familiarity with CNC operational procedures.

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3 years of related experience.
  • Ability to perform metric conversions.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and routings.

Preferred

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • 4 or more years of related experience.

  • Stoop by bending body downward and forward requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Kneel by bending legs at knees to come to rest on knee(s).
  • Crouch by bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine.
  • Perceive attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touch.
  • Hear by perceiving the nature of sounds by ear.
  • Adjust vision to bring objects into sharp focus.
  • Identify and distinguish colors.
