Job description

Come join our team here in Simi Valley, California.

Expected Salary: $24.00 to $28.00 per hour

Brief Description:

The CNC Lathe machinist is responsible for producing work efficiently while meeting drawing and planning specifications and requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Knowledge of machining processes.
  2. Assist and complete set-ups for the first two years with supervision and assistance.
  3. Perform and maintain accurate in-process quality inspections and records.
  4. Identify and recommend process improvements to reduce part quality variation.
  5. Handle all phases of part operation setup to achieve first article acceptance under supervision.
  6. Continuously improve processes, procedures, and eliminate waste.
  7. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Desirable Experience and Capabilities:

  • Basic knowledge of metals and measurements used in machining processes.
  • 1-3 years experience operating CNC mills/lathes.
  • Skilled in indicator, gauge, dial bore, and plate inspection methods for first article and in-process inspection of precision machined parts.
  • Ability to maintain tolerances within .0005”.
  • Understanding of machine tool accuracy, tool offsets.
  • Basic knowledge of cutting tool feeds, speeds, and tool life for aerospace machining.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and interpret blueprints and quality requirements.
  • Effective communication skills with employees and management.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (more with assistance).
  • Experience with AS9100, 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; machinist schooling is a plus.
  • Note: Restrictions imposed by federal export control laws may limit this job opportunity to candidates who are a ‘U.S. Person’ or can otherwise qualify for a license to hold the position.
