Job summary

Moog in Buffalo, NY is seeking a skilled Machinist I for the 3rd shift to manufacture high-precision aerospace components. You will perform set-ups and run parts on CNC lathe with milling capabilities, ensuring tight tolerances and quality finishes.

You will inspect finished work, read blueprints (GD&T) and operation sheets, and use precision gaging equipment. A minimum of 1 year as a general machinist; CNC lathe experience preferred; formal CNC certification is welcome.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as a general machinist; CNC lathe experience preferred.
• Graduation from a formal manufacturing, machining, or CNC certification/training program may be accepted in lieu of experience.
• Demonstrated ability to follow an escalation path as it applies to machining.
• Familiarity with reading blueprints and written work instructions.
• Familiarity using measuring equipment including micrometers and dial bore gauges.

Responsibilities

• Perform set-ups and run parts on a CNC lathe with milling capabilities to close tolerances, fine finishes, and complex geometry.
• Inspect all work, set up or adjust gauging equipment, detect unusual conditions, and identify errors in blueprints and operation sheets.
• Interpret complex drawings, including GD&T blueprints, sketches and operation sheets.
